Impressive Antique French Religious Embroidery. Central three dimensional Stump Work Angus Dei, Lamb of God, surrounded by a scrolling vine border all worked in Intricate Silver and Gold Metal threads. Upon a very fine quality Burgundy colour Silk Velvet ground. Dating from late 18th century. Embroidery is in good antique condition with just gentle signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Original (unfaded) gold colour threads around edge due to not being exposed whilst framed. I think it looks rather lovely with the gold edging.
