P for your consideration is a very rare 7.5 antique Black Forest carved religious/pastoral chalice/goblet. This is from the Victorian to Edwardian era. The detailing in this goblet is absolutely incredible, pictures just don’t seem to do it justice. The history I found on it is small. Most of these chalices are 6″-7″. There are some that are 9 but are extremely rare. Also some are finished with a stain, however most are left plain, as this one is. Each goblet that is made is considered a masterpiece. As to this particular chalice, there are some fine hairline cracks started as shown in photos. I took this to a rare antiques dealer to ask what do I do to prevent it happening more. The answer is it needs to be in a temperature controlled environment or kept under a glass case or cased in, something to that likeness. Well, I live in an area with the weather changing every two seconds so I thought it would be best to pass this beautiful item along to someone who can care for it. It will also need cleaning. I never dared, I didn’t want to damage anything. Please look over the photos and use the “zoom in” option to check over the pictures, as they are part of my description.
