Here we have an antique 19th century oil on canvas painting. It is framed and sits behind glass. Pictures show the back before and after I removed the cardboard during investigation. Canvas is nailed and not stapled which appears to be American according to the mitered corners. Keys look original but there are 2 missing keys. The outer frame is of solid wood with a. As far as I can see it is not signed unless. Under the edge of the frame. The glass has some age on it as well because it has some slight waves. The writing on the back of the canvas states, Sr. Mary Felice – Don’t touch! Canvas 20″ tall x 14″. Frame 23.75″ x 17 5/16″. Condition: Excellent condition and especially considering the age. It sits behind glass and is very well preserved with beautiful color and I clearly see nice texture. I don’t think there is any craquelure or least I don’t see any through the glass. I do see a few very small scratches but they are small and minor. This is a fine piece of art and very little damage if any.
