An Impressionist, Plein Air oil painting on wood (period plywood), depicting a Holy Man At Study in his humble, stark quarters. The piece is approximately 12 inches high by 8 1/2 inches wide, the piece is framed and with the frame it is approximately 19 inches high by 15 5/8 inches wide. The painting is illegibly signed in the lower left corner (please see photos). This is an old, used item, and it does show signs of aging patination. The frame has finish loss in multiple areas including all the corners (please see photos). The painting has very, very little to no paint loss to speak of (please see photos). The piece could use a professional cleaning (please see photos), which would really make the elaborate, wide ranging palette of the painting pop out even more.
