This antique brass altar candlestick features a medium size with a gold color and brass material. It has a fluted stem and a tripod base featuring lion’s feet. On the base there are 3 raised reliefs: Mary, the Sacred Heart with a cross rising from the top and a Trinitarian Triangle with Hebrew symbols, reflecting its religious theme from the Victorian era. THIS COMBINATION OF SYMBOLS IS RARE – NOT SEEN VERY OFTEN as the usual ones are of the Holy Family. It is suitable for taper candles. The candlestick is likely French in origin from the 19th century. The candlestick stands at 15 inches tall, weighs 1.38 lbs, and is unmarked in terms of brand. It has a beautiful patina and there are no apparent scratches or dents other than a small dent in the fluted stem near where it joins the top portion – see pictures. The only known anomaly is that the upper ring below the actual candle holding slot is loose but does not appear to affect the candlestick in any way. With raised relief and an antique bronze finish, this candle holder is a unique and original piece of decorative collectible for those who appreciate religious artifacts from the late 19th century.

This is a magnificent and rare Ethiopian Orthodox Processional Hand Cross, a significant piece of liturgical art used by priests during ceremonies and blessings. Hand-cast using the ancient “lost wax” technique, this cross features a unique spherical central element. While one side features a functional hinged enclosure that opens to reveal a hand-etched icon of two holy figures, please note that the opposite side’s cylinder is decorative and does not open. The craftsmanship is exceptionally detailed, featuring. Central Icon: A hidden internal engraving of religious figures within the functional hinged side. Figurative Elements: Depictions of winged angels and saints integrated into the cross arms. Symbolic Base: The bottom “taboot” base features an etched open book with Ge’ez script (the liturgical language of Ethiopia) and a winged seraph on the reverse side. The cross is made of a sturdy brass or bronze alloy with a heavy silvered wash, showing a beautiful authentic patina that speaks to its age and ritual use. Item Specifics & Measurements.
