Very beautiful design and great details! The brass case is in very good condition! The book is used, but still in ok condition! You can put any of your favorite books or the Bible in it. Only for a book size:11″-9″. The size of the brass cover:11 1/4″-9 1/4″-2 3/8. Really a museum quality piece! Some stamp mark on the back.

D escription: Solid Silver chalice cup with cover possibly religious 6 inches high. Measurements: 16 cms high or approx 6 inches high. Base diameter 6.5 cms by cms by cms high. Hallmarks: there are some hallmarks only to finial which are not. None others that I can find however the silver bowl of the chalice & the cover has a silver planished form to it on close inspection , The piece has tested by proof at 925 silver. The finial knop to the cup cover has a dink. Please see the photos which form part of the description. This is a very nice unusual item. For sale is this RARE late 16th. The piece is approx 9.75″ (245mm) by 7.5″ (190mm) It is housed in a glass Box frame. (overall size including frame 15″ by 12.75″). The piece has some loss to the edges maily at the top, the center image is of probably Saint Joseph a bearded man holding a child Jesus in one hand and a Lily in the other. There are two other figures below one of bishop Saint holding a quill, as there is a bishops mitre and staff beside him, underneath his feet on gold or gilt is the remains of his name only the first letter is left the letter B. The other figure is of a nun (saint) holding a staff there is a name underneath but I cant make it out. In the center bottom is a crucified christ with another saint woman lying at his feet holding a cross and possibly a bible. The embroidery is a mix of pieces of. Silver-gilt-thread and coloured silks, Gold or gilt, satins or hide etc. A Rare early Museum piece well framed similar to. Any question or for more photos please ask. Will post world wide. Very old Chinese home or shop altar with it’s original cover. While I cannot verify that with certainty, it is obviously quite old, and hand made by a highly skilled traditional craftsman. The carving is complex, and replete with traditional religious symbolic and decorative motifs. The roof is particularly graceful, and depicted in the style of the old temples. With the cover on, the altar measures about 13.5 tall. The widest point of the base measures 13 and is 5.25 inches front to back. Aside from an occasional nick or tiny chip, it is extremely well preserved. It could use a bit of a cleaning. The cover is also in excellent shape. This deity is about 25 years old, and was made by a craftsman in Macau. It is about 7.25 tall. It will be packed with utmost care.
