This is an extraordinary antique religious relic reproduction, dated 1913, housed in a beautifully ornate gold frame. The piece features. A replica of the Titulus Crucis – the plaque said to have hung above Jesus during the crucifixion, inscribed “IESVS NAZARENVS REX IVDAEORVM” (Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews) in Latin, Hebrew, and Greek. The inscription appears mirrored as preserved by traditional displays. An authentic iron nail piercing through the display to symbolize the Crucifixion. An official certificate in Latin, issued from the Monastery of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem (Rome) and dated February 7th, 1913, signed by D. Reliquary RELIC TRUE CROSS CRUCIS D. OF OUR LORD JESUS w/ SEAL. Ex lignum crucis – from the wood of the cross. Wax Seal and Threads are Intact, and Undisturbed. The glass is nice, and clear. This piece has the original patina. I did not try to clean as I would not want to chance any moisture getting under the glass. This is a Rare and wonderful find.
