The Order of the Templars. Founded in Jerusalem in 1118 by Hugo de Payns and eight other French knights, with the name of Poor Knights of Christ. Their mission was to protect pilgrims who came to the Holy Places. Antique Crusader’s Cross with Emerald Cut AMETHYST Stone. Carefully review photos for these are part of the description. The square cross has floral silver clusters at each point and has a smaller greek cross in each quadrant. The Back stamp : Sterling(center) 950on the two top small crosses. I do know that it arrived in the US from England more than 25 years ago because I have owned it for 23 years.
