The product is a handmade antique crucifix, crafted with glass. This unique piece of folk art represents the Christian religion, particularly Christianity and Catholism. It offers a glimpse into the craftsmanship and spiritual values of the time period, making it a valuable and collectible item for those interested in religious artifacts. This is a hand made antique folk art “whimsy bottle”, likely dating to the late 1800s, early 1900s. Possibly European or German. It features a hand-carved wooden crucifix diorama, devotional object, with various antique victorian ephemera; including Lily of the Valley, a hest with two doves or love birds, a fan, flowers, a butterfly, and affection tokens: “Affection’s offering, ” “I think of thee, ” “Token of love, ” and Remember me. ” It is sometimes called “bottle art” or “patience art. It is in very good antique condition and sealed. One spear may be caught in the bottom. Very detailed and rare with the victorian ephemera and spin mechanism. The diorama is inside an old thick glass bottle and spins. The bottle is about 8 inches tall and 2.5 inches square. It includes passion symbols such as a crucifix, ladder, spear, bird, flowers, etc within the glass. Perfect for Easter and/or Christmas. These bottles were frequently made by sailors, craftsmen, or soldiers (trench art) during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. They may have also been made in monasteries. Please look at all the pictures as they are the description. Please ask questions and feel free to put in an offer.

Amazing religious piece of art! Art comes from a estate full of antique religious relics. There is some very light wear to the frame as shown in photos from age. Seems to be some dirt, stains on the inside of glass. Also some wear to the back. Otherwise the item is in great shape and would display nicely. Outside frame measurements approximately 17″X 21″. Please check out photos.

Framed 3D Altar to the Holy Family. This came from my family farm. The date of 1892 (when the Confraternity to the Holy family was established) is close to when my grandfather was born, so I believe this belonged to his parents. The way the back is shaped makes it perfect to hang in a corner, which is how it hung in the front parlor on the farm.
