Up for sale is a set of two rare antique French 11-12th century hand carved religious sandstone Ecclesiastical sculptures. These sculptures are original handmade sculptures featuring religious figures, crafted using the carving technique. The larger statue is a depiction of. Standing Saint Peter Holding the Holy Bible and the smaller depicting Saint peter holding a large skeleton key. These sculptures showcase intricate detailing and represent a piece of religious art history. They have acquired a wonderful patina from age and mounted in a modern shadowbox frame. The larger sculpture measures 8 1/4 inches tall by 2 inches wide by 1 1/5 inches back to front. The smaller figure measures 5 1/2 inches tall by 1 1/2 inches wide by 1 1/4 inches back to front. Antique XIX century religious ecclesiastical catholic priest stole and handle
Its rare to find both matching. Lovely handmade by Nuns. Very detailed made with attention. Decorated with red embroidery, decorated with a croix. From the Latin manipulus which means “handful, small sheaf”. The maniple is a strip of fabric of the same material and color as the chasuble, worn on the left arm by the priest, the deacon and the subdeacon, from the 9th century until it was made optional by the instruction Tres abhinc annos in 1967 and then no longer mentioned in the missal of 1969. Its use is again normative in the context of the celebration of the Tridentine form of the Roman rite. Worn first by the deacons of the Roman Church, its use extended to bishops, priests, subdeacons and even lower clerics. In the 11th century it was attributed only to major orders and became, as such, the particular badge of the subdiaconate. It is only worn for mass, with the chasuble, dalmatic or tunic. Its decoration is identical to that of the stole. And this antique priest stole with embroidered by hand matching maniple. Good condition considering age with minor flaws(some stains and loose stitches). Size is standard I’m not measuring.

Large Antique Cast Iron Plaque depicting’The Last Supper’, In Relief. Dated around 1900 – 1920. Coalbrookdale style casting, after Leomardo Da Vinci, late 15th Century original mural. The rectangular plaque modelled in bas-relief with the saints flanking the seated Chris, at a long table. The hardwood frame has been refurbished and repolished. Good condition for age. However, there is a hairline crack from the right of top centre edge, heading towards the centre doorway. A historical solder repair has been undertake from behind, so this crack is now totally sound and stable. Fine and good quality casting. This is a truly beautiful antique French religious print dating from the 19th Century. It is in the most amazing frame. The print depicts Christ on the cross and Mary at his feet. Despite all, the scene is very serene and beautiful. Mary tilts her gorgeous face upwards in prayer. She has long flowing hair and wears a stunning red gown which looks sublime against the glorious green countryside behind. There is a crackle finish effect within the print, which together with the gorgeous antique colours makes it a very atmospheric piece. The frame of the print is made of wood and is skillfully carved in the shape of a church window or a piece of ecclesiastical architecture. It is beautifully gilded. If you look very carefully at the top of the side columns you will see that the frame actually blends into the print. The print and it’s frame are in good antique condition. The print has bubbled a little in places and there are one or two old worm holes in the frame, but these do not detract from the beauty of this gorgeous old piece. It measures :- 43 cm (17 inches) high x 21 cm (8.25 inches) wide.
