Not framed so it definitely has so many shelf life as you can see in the photos. Some of the threads are broken and some of the beads and small stuff are missing, but almost the embroidery is still very good! You can put a frame of it or just let it be that way. Because of the age, some of the broken threads may fragile, it may keep fall or broken. It’s a very precious collectible piece! And honestly its in very good shape and quality after 100 years without any frame or protection.

Up for sale is a rare antique 19th century handmade needlepoint memorial sampler. The sampler is done with elaborate detailing depicting a densely foliated cross framed with a lovely floral border. The bottom edge is dated 1847 and reads’Catherine Ferguson’. It measures 23 1/4 inches by 19 3/4 inches framed. There is ware to the piece and to the fibers and some discoloration as shown. For sale is this RARE late 16th. The piece is approx 9.75″ (245mm) by 7.5″ (190mm) It is housed in a glass Box frame. (overall size including frame 15″ by 12.75″). The piece has some loss to the edges maily at the top, the center image is of probably Saint Joseph a bearded man holding a child Jesus in one hand and a Lily in the other. There are two other figures below one of bishop Saint holding a quill, as there is a bishops mitre and staff beside him, underneath his feet on gold or gilt is the remains of his name only the first letter is left the letter B. The other figure is of a nun (saint) holding a staff there is a name underneath but I cant make it out. In the center bottom is a crucified christ with another saint woman lying at his feet holding a cross and possibly a bible. The embroidery is a mix of pieces of. Silver-gilt-thread and coloured silks, Gold or gilt, satins or hide etc. A Rare early Museum piece well framed similar to. Any question or for more photos please ask. Will post world wide.
