It comes from “Le Monastere des Carmelites de Lisieux”. You can feel a small square of fabric inside. France, 19th century, made of fabric and gilded bronze. Height : 4.5 in. Great overall condition, to me it is a rosary box, I’ve seen a lot made of mother of pearl but never one like this, it is bigger than the others I’ve seen before.
