A superb good sized rare Modernist English solid sterling silver chalice. It is hallmarked for Birmingham 1978 with the makers marks being H&F for Hayes & Finch Ltd, it is also marked St Dunstan Craft. It has a superbly deigned having a textured base with a gilded cross set with an amethyst stone. The cup has been internally gilded. It is in outstanding condition being free from dings splits and repairs – light polishing lines. 5.5 inches (14cms) tall by 3.25 inches (8.3cms) across the rim by 2.5 inches (6.3cms) across the base and weighs an impressive 276 grams. It has a traditional design having a broad base, lightly gilded bowl, and knopped stem. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits and repairs.
