Stunning 15ct gold cross intaglio seal ring antique, hallmarked. This very unusual ring is made from 15ct yellow gold and is set with an oval blue/grey sardonyx intaglio in the shape of a gothic designed crucifix. The intaglio is well carved and has a few minor surface scratches communsurate with age and historic usage but overall for an intaglio is in excellent condition being slightly off set within its bezel setting. The gothic style cross is very well carved with sharp defined edges to slightly decorative shoulders. Smaller sized and looks really striking when worn. This wonderful ring has been sympathetically repolished ready for a new owner to enjoy. Please note that the antique box is not included, this delightful ring will be sent in a new ring box. Very unique old antique ring. Rectangular or emerald cut intaglio carved design that I believe is a female religious figure – maybe an angel as there is a halo. Clear glass or rock crystal jewel. Held in place by large integrated prongs, sides of the setting that extend up to cradle and hold securely. Double split band design comes together to form one on the sides. Almost looks like it could be used for wax sealing stamp or something ceremonial. Lots of nice patina on the silver…. I didn’t clean or polish this up at all. Ready and waiting for your finger, collection, or gift giving – you will love it!!! Marks = STERLING stamped on the inside of the band. Ring size = 8.25 on my stick. Weight = 4.4 grams on my scale. Condition = Great vintage condition – no damage or quirks to mention. Very minor normal vintage wear as one would expect of a piece from this era – glass piece is free from chips, cracks, breaks etc. I haven’t cleaned or polished at all. There is an accumulation of d irt/debris behind the clear glass stone – i t would benefit from a gentle cleaning. Just a soft brush and some soapy water would clean it nicely if you. View & enlarge photographs to closely inspect fine details and to determine the amount of patina, and/or wear. Most older pieces by nature normally have some degree of both and, unless severe, aren’t considered damaged. I will note anything glaring or distracting. The swivel is a citrine coloured glass piece with intaglio to each side. By Honesty engraved above with a person and globe to the centre of him to one side.
