Antique OLD MASTER Cathedral Interior Oil Painting For Restoration 1800’s. Old Master School- Cathedral Interior Requiring some Restoration 19th Century. An old work we feel dating to the last quarter of the 19th Century. Dark and dirty with repairs and plenty of varnish browning, offered requiring restoration if desired- or simply hang it as found and enjoy the patina of the ages. Size- 20.5 by 14.75 inches approx (520 x 370 mm) including frame, canvas 18 by 12 inches approx. Medium- Oils on canvas. Frame- Antique gold coloured frame, some knocks, offered free with the painting. Condition- Dark and dirty with plenty of varnish browning and old repairs visible. Escription of item for sale. This oil on canvas. Painting of a classic monastery scene is from Belgium and it dates to the mid-1900’s. It is signed by the artist but we were not able to decipher the signature or identify the artist. The painting is in very good antique condition, tight on its stretchers and with only very minor nicks and scratches. The wood frame is also in very good antique condition with no damage of any significance. The frame is from the same period as the painting and is most likely original. Dimensions : 34″ wide, 26.5″ tall and 2.5 thick in its frame. The canvas size is 27.5″ wide and 20″ tall.
