Langlais & Fils, Libraires-Éditeurs. Language: Latin and French. Format: Catholic liturgical prayer and chant book. Content: Daily prayers, Mass texts, hymns, and Gregorian chant notations. This book was used by French-speaking Catholics in Canada to actively follow and sing along with the Latin Mass, especially during a time when church music was largely Gregorian chant. It is both a missal (Mass book) and chant book designed for laypeople rather than clergy. Contains neumatic notation (square notes on a 4-line staff).
