Antique Santos Virgin and Child. Mary is depicted as a Queen with flowing gown and crown a well as child Jesus. Is carved wood and polychrome in colors of maroon and green with gold paint. Fashioned after a 16th Century painting. “Nuestra Virgen de las Aguas” Was believed to be a Spanish image commissioned for the Nuestra Senora de las Aguas Church in Bogata in 1640. Both hands once held something. Very old hanger on back. Was probably hung on church wall. Measures 13 1/4″ tall x 7 3/4″ across x 2 3/4 deep.
