RareFind Antique German Framed Reverse Painting. Antique from the 19. This item is beautifully framed in three tiers: a ribbed outer tier, and two ornate, decorative tiers, one of which is painted a gold color. The religious sayingin German translates to” “Me and my house want to serve the Lord. The sayingis written in Gothic script and is outlined in a gold color. This was found in a grain storage building on a farm outside of Ann Arbor about 60 years ago. The foiling has some condition issues as does the frame. It presents nicely in person. The frame measures 17 3/8″ wide by 20.5″ high.

Antique 1800s Rock of Ages – Tinsel/Foil Art Reverse Painting on Glass Extravagant Beautiful and very old religious art, featuring foil work and reverse painted glass, in an extravagant beautiful antique wood frame. This is reverse painted glass of Rock of Ages, with the title above and the rest of the saying at the bottom. Nice use of tinsel/foil work behind the glass painting as well. The overall size is approx 20″ wide and 26″ tall, I will be getting a more exact measurement shortly. There are no cracks in the glass. The frame is fantastic, almost triple layered like. There is some minor wear as seen in the photos. It is backed in wood, which is nice to preserve the safety of the glass painting. There is a note taped to the back that I did not want to remove, as it gives an idea of it’s age. It reads: Was Grandma Andersons. I think it had been her mothers, my great Grandmother Lundgren.
