Antique oil painting been loved but not taken care of properly. It would be painted by a at self taught folkart probably a woman in the mid 1800’s. There are many versions of the painting it called “The Angel Appearing Before the Shepherds” or something close to that. It had some tears in it and they put a piece of posterboard on the back side and glued it down so would not get worse. The bad spots are not in important areas so not as bad as it may seem. The frame is wonderful wood gesso and gilt gold all no paices missing. Canvas is 27 1/2″ x 22″ – 34″ x 28″ framed.
