Offered is an authentic 1867 Family Holy Bible in original, untouched condition with an incredible collection of original items preserved inside for well over a century. This is far more than just an antique Bible-it is a genuine historical time capsule that contains religious, family, and newspaper ephemera spanning decades. Antique 1867 Holy Bible. Original 1898 Epworth League Prayer-Meeting Topics booklet (complete). Multiple antique Danish-language religious/catechism pages. Late -1800s/early-1900s newspaper clippings. Original pressed flower preserved inside the Bible. Additional original paper fragments and inserts exactly as found. Everything is included exactly as discovered. Nothing has been cleaned, restored, or altered. The binding shows expected wear from over 150 years of age. Despite the binding issues, the Bible appears to be more than 99% complete. I carefully inspected it and could not find any missing pages, although it is possible that one or two pages may be absent. Because of its age and fragile condition, I chose not to force the binding apart or manipulate the pages, as I did not want to risk damaging this remarkable piece of history. Both Genesis and Revelation appear to be 100% present and complete. The pages exhibit expected age toning, foxing, and light staining consistent with a Bible of this era. All original historical inserts shown in the photographs-including the 1898 Epworth League Prayer-Meeting Topics booklet, Danish-language religious pages, antique newspaper clippings, paper fragments, and the pressed flower-are included with the sale. This is a beautiful and rare copy of the collection of essays on the Bible stories, religion, and morality, collected and edited by the great Christian Minister and writer, Reverend Edward E. Hale: The Rosary of Illustrations of The Bible, published in 1848. The copy we offer here is unique in that it has a red cover (more typically the cover is a darker tone of green or blue). As noted, the book has wear from age and use, stray marks to the covers and internal pages, a tear to the cover stock at the top of the spine, fading of paper, and a notable amount of foxing around the illustrations. That said, considering age, the book looks great – fabulous gilded cover illustrations of The Lord Jesus Christ, quite a bit of original gilding on the page edges, and good strong binding. A true rare book jewel.

It will be hard to find this book in this beautiful rare condition. This book is solid!! Very tight and strongly held together for its age! Leather is strong and great condition! Spine is solid and intact at all corners. Inside of front and back cover fully attached. The front brown paper inside cover page is missing but the book is perfectly attached to the cover. It was not ripped or torn out. It is like it was cut or just never there. It does not affect the condition of the book or hurt it in anyway. Gold gild on outside is in beautiful condition. On the bottom there is one small 1 inch by less than half inch very lightly faded spot on the bottom gilding on the book. I show in a photo. It’s barely faded and is still golden to sight. You have to turn it in the light to see the small faded spot. Illustrations pages are perfect with tissue guards intact on 10 of the 12. Pages are all very tight. No rips tears or folds. Only normal but very little foxing. Outside leather is in excellent condition with normal wear for its age showing at top and bottom. There are a couple dark stains on the spine. It is very dark like ink possibly and could make a good story of where it came from. Lol Please ask any questions or if you need more photos. It’s a gorgeous book! Please check out my other books!

It also shows how Solomon’s wisdom was revealed to the people through the famous judgment he rendered. Content of the Haftarah. Solomon’s Dream and Request: Solomon asks God not for riches or long life, but for a wise and understanding heart to judge his people. The Gift of Wisdom: God appears to Solomon in a dream and grants him a wise and discerning heart, as he requested. The Famous Judgment: The haftarah concludes with the story of Solomon’s wise ruling between two women claiming the same baby. His decision reveals his profound wisdom to the entire nation.
