Hello, you are viewing my sale for an Antique Polychrome Wood Carving of a Woman Carrying a Basket. She is wearing a Long Dress. This is a Detailed Hand Painted wood carving. Is this a religious woman? This carved figure weighs 2.4 pounds and measures 15 and 1/4″ tall by 5 and 1/2″ wide by 4 and 1/2 deep. There is some wear present as well as loss of paint which I have shown in my photographs. This figure cannot stand on its own and must be leaned against something to stand upright. The top of the basket on one side is missing the top. There is great character throughout this wood carving with lovely details. There are no repairs present. A wonderful and unusual pair of original antique yard long prints. Framed in old black painted frames that show age and wear. With old wavy glass. These two antique lithographs have similar but not matching borders. The subjects wear traditional and colorful Russian Ukrainian? Colors are muted and lovely. Russian Folk Art Scenes. A church procession with children leading. A little altar boy with incense and a flower girl scattering petals walk backward. Followed by the priest under a canopy held by older boys. The congregation follows behind, with tall candles. They all have wonderful Russian costumes and old fashioned black high top shoes. A charming country farm scene with a farmer and horse plowing. A woman rocking a baby. A woman spinning and. An older nun sitting on a bench under the tree. A man at the far left carries a bundle on a stick over his shoulder and looks directly at the artist. Are in the lower left corner. In very good antique condition, with age and wear to the frames. There are hanging wires on the back, but I would not trust them. I believe the underside of the glass is dirty at the far right on the farm scene, as it appears a bit hazy. The frames measure 32 1/2 inches long, and 13 inches tall. Hello and thank you for looking. This beautiful textile is a vintage French coat made from the most wonderful black worsted soft cotton with a twill weave. This beautiful coat dates from around 1890! The buttons are cover in a burnt orange fabric and there is fabulous red trim up the front and on the collar. SUCH a wonderful coat with a lovely shape! The lining at the top interior is glazed with a lovely sheen. There are openings in each side that are intended to allow you to access pockets inside without having to unbutton your coat, which is good because this has a lot of buttons!! This coat has a somewhat military air but may have been used as a religious garment, or perhaps a riding coat. This would still be great for wearing, design inspiration or display!! Such a beautiful piece in great condition! MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approximately. 13.25 inch shoulders. 18 inches across the waist, laid flat. 17.5 inches across the chest, laid flat. CONDITION : This coat is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. A few tiny marks but generally in beautiful condition indeed!
