Antique Italy Italian Hand Made Holy Religious Christian Madonna Virgin Mother and Christ Child Glass Crystal Pottery Tile Framed in Gold Gilt Wood Frame. A wonderful hand made piece of art that has what appears to be glass crystals in the background. This adds quite a bit of depth and an interesting effect to the overall artwork. Antique Spanish Virgin of Reyes Ceramic Tile Retable from Triana Seville Spain. In very good condition for it’s age. Acquired from an traditional antique Seville, Andalusia, Spain home in the Santa Cruz neighborhood. Made in a ceramic tile factory on Santa Ana Street, in Triana, Seville, as can be seen in the signature. It’s already unmounted from the wall it was on, as can be seen in the 2nd photo. It only suffered minor damage in this process as can also be seen in the 2nd photo. The first photo shows the retable before being dismounted. Beautifully rendered renaissance style Petite oval portrait of Mary and Jesus on porcelain plaque, unsigned. Is in excellent condition, no cracks or chips, and presents wonderfully. Frame is in good shape, although is missing 1 bead on the inside of the oval, and the gold gild is worn, but looks great with the portrait. Plaque, and frame fitter size measure 5″ tall by 4″ wide. Sight size is 4 7/16″ tall by 3 7/16″ wide. Overall dimensions are 5 5/8″ tall by 4 9/16″ wide by 1/2 thick. Weighs about 5 1/2 oz. Is glued into the frame, and did not try to remove, although i took of the backing to see if there was some kind of mark or signature, all i found was older and newer glue, apparently had a black backing at one time.
