Bartolommeo Gavanto was a 16th century Italian priest known for his work in the Barnabite order. His best and most important work was’Thesaurus sacrorum rituum’ – a work which surveyed the history and origin of sacred rites, mysticism, and scriptural references. This work was known to be widely used within the Catholic Church.
