Very old Chinese home or shop altar with it’s original cover. While I cannot verify that with certainty, it is obviously quite old, and hand made by a highly skilled traditional craftsman. The carving is complex, and replete with traditional religious symbolic and decorative motifs. The roof is particularly graceful, and depicted in the style of the old temples. With the cover on, the altar measures about 13.5 tall. The widest point of the base measures 13 and is 5.25 inches front to back. Aside from an occasional nick or tiny chip, it is extremely well preserved. It could use a bit of a cleaning. The cover is also in excellent shape. This deity is about 25 years old, and was made by a craftsman in Macau. It is about 7.25 tall. It will be packed with utmost care.
