Ancient bronze Christ-Crucifix with lost wax work, from the mid-nineteenth century. This method of bronze casting involves the creation of a wax model, which is then covered with a plaster mold. The lost wax technique allows you to obtain great precision in details and a high quality finish. This type of sculpture could be considered a work of art of great artistic and historical value, thanks to the skill required to create it and its durability over time. The manufacturing and artistic details are excellent, various characteristics make Christ absolutely plausible, in addition to the anatomical ones, note the crown of thorns and the cords that encircle the veil, of superb workmanship. The dark green patina is the result of a slow oxidation process of the bronze, it has never been cleaned and gives Christ an austere and glorious appearance. Period: 1850 (Louis Philippe).
