Chinese / Japanese 18th / 19th C Artwork On Panel Religious Figure Saint Antique
This listing is for a Chinese or Japanese piece of art, likely from the 17th, 18th, or19th Centuries (very late 1600s-early 1800s). The Artwork depicts an image of a religious figure, Saint, or Madonna; it is a mixed media piece showing a woven thread (possibly silk or thread woven with precious metal) figure who is wearing a crown of dragons, surrounded by flying cranes and jumping foo dogs. The background is actually crushed mother of pearl, which if properly cleaned would make the whole ensemble a shining focal point to any collection. The whole is hand assembled on a wooden panel. It is done in an extremely interesting style, and has some original colors still. Could be restored by a professional to its full glory, or displayed as is. The design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. It has some damage and wear typical to art of this kind and age. Could be repaired by a professional, but also could be displayed as is for the aesthetic. Thank you for your consideration, I appreciate your time. Reasonable offers always appreciated. Comes as shown, please see photos for details and measurements.
