ANTIQUE AUTHENTIC STERLING SILVER CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS. SAINT GEORGE ORDER OF ST. THE BROOCH IS FROM THE LATE 19TH AND EARLY 20TH CENTURY. This brooch depicts Saint George slaying the dragon, one of the most famous Christian motifs, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. The inscription “SANCTUS GEORGIUS EQUITUM PATRONUS” is Latin and means “Saint George, patron of knights”. Above the image is an inscription in Latin: “IN TEMPESTATE SECURITAS”, which means “Safety in the storm”. This is a symbolic ornament that conveys a message of resilience and protection in difficult times. The inscription “TEMPESTATE SECURITAS” is associated with the Order of St. Benedict (Ordo Sancti Benedicti), also known as the Benedictine Order. This Latin expression is used in Benedictine iconography and symbolism, representing security and stability in times of storm or difficulty. All of my items are Pre-owned, vintage and used. Very often, these items are scratches and traces of use. All my items are from house no smokers and no pets. A great gift for anyone.
