15 Antique French Iron Cross Fragment Praying Angels – Angels in Prayer – Religious Salvage Cross Fragment – Angel Fragment – Religious Wall Decoration – Rustic Garden Decoration – Cemetery Grave Decoration – Salvage Fragment – Cemetery Grave Salvage – Church Salvage. MEASUREMENT: 15″ tall x 9″ wide x 1 deep / Weight – 9 lbs. Done out of cast iron open work, this fabulous antique 19th century decorative French cross fragment has a dimensional and detailed front featuring two winged angels in prayer. Angels are considered to be God’s servants… Benevolent celestial intermediaries between God (or Heaven) and humanity. Other roles include protectors and guides for humans, and servants of God. Even though it has been out in the weather for 100 plus years, it still retains a good portion of its original silver paint with just the perfect aged rust patina. Plots in France were originally leased for 99 years. Even fragments such as this are becoming more difficult to find. Each is to be treasured for its amazing beauty and workmanship! This piece can be placed in a garden room or garden, hung on the wall, or used as part of a vignette. Perfect for a French Country, Chateau Style, French Rustic, Farmhouse, Jeanne D’Arc, Cottage Style, or Shabby Chic home. CONDITION: This piece is 100+ years old. It has a good portion of its original silver finish and weathered rust patina. I have used a special solution to clean this piece and seal the aged patina, so it will not come off on the hands. If it is placed outside, it will continue to rust naturally.
