Incredible carved wooden fique of Archangel San Miguel. Known as a Santo or Bulto and likely originated in Central America, or Spain. Provenance is not known. Surprisingly, includes a cross staff in very good condition. Missing likely wings (holes in back) and a sword in left hand. I’m not sure of reason, but there is also a hole below knee on left leg. Remnants of original paint throughout. Features are weathered, but, detail is evident and well preserved. Stands 15″ x 5″ w x 3 1/2.
