














Rare antique small but sturdy approx. 1 tall with solid bale/suspension loop; weight approx. 3.6g two-sided Catholic medal featuring iconic images of the Savior Jesus Christ on one side, and His Blessed Mother, Mary on the other. Their images are framed with large round radiant circles also known as halos, with small rays symbolizing the light. The medal appears to have been made from. A historical bronze or similar heavy copper alloy of unknown composition. Origin likely circa 18th century. The estimated age of the medal is. Based on the criteria described in the “Introduction to Religious Medals” by Bob Forrest pp. 2-3 and distinct style of the artistic depiction indicating a pre-19th century origin.
