Antique Heavy Religious Medallion Pendant. Saint Barbara / Virgin Mary / Madonna. 32.7 g pendant weight. She Holds a sword in one hand and torch in the other with what appears to be a pink stone for the flame. Unsure if this is original and is a rhinestone or gemstone. Possibly a pink sapphire, pink topaz or rhinestone. The color is that of antique gold. Both the pendant bail and pendant are stamped 18K HOWEVER THIS HAS BEEN TESTED. AND METAL IS NOT GOLD. (AUTHENTICATION HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE SEE NOTES BELOW IN BLUE). AGAIN IT IS LISTED FOR THE PENDANT ESTATE PIEC ITSELF AND NOT FOR ANY GOLD VALUE AS IT IS OF UNKNOWN METAL AND PLATING. I have also taken to jeweler and had tested which was negative for 18K. Jeweler said he did not know the metal or the plating or metal contents but not unusual for vintage pieces to be marked and not genuine precious metals. 2″ x 1.5″. Thick and heavy and such beautiful detail on this beautiful rare piece!! However, the item’s condition doesn’t match the listing description.
