Ref: Undescribed Artists and Engravers: Made by’Antonio Lafreri’ after own design. He is best known for his publictaion of the “Speculum Romanae”, a series of prints of the monuments of Rome. Between 1540 and 1580 he ran one of the most important printshops in Rome. Subject: Antique Master Print, titled:’Augustinus afer divino.’ – Portrait of Augustine of Hippo, seated at a writing table, receiving a vision of the Trinity. Condition: Very good, given age. Margins cropped to the image edge, with margin damage on the left side (reinforced on the rear with paper). Please study scan carefully. Size (in cm): The overall size is ca. 22.4 x 22.1 cm.
