18th century, possibly Italian icon. Cutout board painted with the image of Mary, in one hand she holds a white dish with a rooster on it, the other hand is upright. It has an old repair just above the neck which is easily seen in the pics, there is also a lot of dirt on the surface which once cleaned should really brighten up the whole piece. Measures 16 1/2″ across the bottom by nearly 13″ tall, the wood board is 3/4 thick. In addition to the above mentioned condition there is also some minor paint loss around the edges.
