This antique copy of “Father Jerome’s Beautiful Book” by Thomas Bailey Aldrich was published in 1896 by Houghton, Mifflin and Company. This antique illustrated religious work is a poem by Thomas Bailey Alrich, a notable 19th century American poet and writer, about devotion and beauty through a monk’s creation of a magnificent illustrated manuscript. Bound in full pig skin with decorations by W. Hadaway” this beautifully illustrated book measures 8 x 4 1/2″ and is good shape for the age. The covers show some minor wear and it is missing the ribbon ties. There is some foxing to some of the pages, but they are free from rips, writing, tears or damage. The binding is solid with no issue and all pages are intact. A really nice looking copy of this well known religious poem! Please look at photos carefully for best judge of condition.
