The pendant is centrally-set with a hand-carved MOTHER OF PEARL medallion that displays FINELY DETAILED RELIEF of MARY MAGDALENE PRAYING. This is the first antique Mary Magdalene piece that I have ever seen! This pendant ORIGINATES FROM ARGENTINA and the pendant reads STA M MAGDALENA, which is spanish for Saint Mary Magdalene. It is hard to photograph it because the mother of pearl is iridescent. On the right side of her head, it looks like the item is signed with two initials, perhaps GL? The pendants frame and bale are set with. ROSE CUT DIAMONDS that have a total weight of approx. A couple of these diamonds have been reset, leaving a slightly darkened color around the diamond.
