

Miniature Portrait Madonna Jesus Hand Paint Porcelain Gold Gilded Frame 1850-80. Antique Victorian Italian hand painted Raphael’s “Madonna of the Chair” a portrait of Mary and baby Jesus. Circa 1850 and – 1880. The painting on porcelain, is well done and in excellent condition. It bears its original tags from Flor & Fidel Picture Dealers, Florence, Italy. Flors & Fidel was a 19th Century picture dealer and stationery merchant located in Florence Italy. It measures approximately 3.25″x 2.5″ unframed – see photos. Plaque is suitable for mounting and hanging in original or new frame or repurposing and mounting in a piece of jewelry. Frame: original carved wood and gesso gold gilded frame. Frame some minor decoration loss / breakage of outer wood scrolling or decoration. Back has a hand written name and notation. Frame is usable and wired for hanging. The frame measures approximately 8″ x 5″ – see photos for measurements. About the painting: the portrait of Mary, Madonna, holding baby Jesus. The hand painted portrait on porcelain plaque is an original art work after the original work painted by Raphael in 1514 hangs in the Palazzo Pitti in the permanent collection of Galleria Platatina in Florence Italy. The Raphael portrait is a religious icon. Copies of it has been entirely hand painted by artist. The icon was marketed to religious pilgrims and to grad tour travelers.
