Description: This religious relief carving dates to the late 1800’s or early 1900’s and was crafted in France. Constructed from oak wood, it depicts one of the miracles of St Francis of Assisi. The composition is framed within a Gothic-inspired arched niche and features expressive carving, flowing drapery, and layered sculptural depth that create a strong sense of movement and narrative. The design reflects traditional European ecclesiastical craftsmanship and devotional artistry of the period. Its rich dark patina and symbolic religious imagery make it ideal for use as a devotional wall plaque, chapel décor accent, or statement decorative element in Gothic-inspired or traditional interiors. Like all our antiques, it was thoughtfully sourced in Europe, imported to our Oregon warehouse, and carefully finished with antique-grade paste wax to preserve its beauty for years to come. Dimensions: 17″ tall, 14″ wide and 3 deep Condition: Overall, this piece is in very good antique condition with no woodworm, no dry rot, and no structural issues. It shows minor surface wear consistent with age and historical use, which contributes to its authentic character.
