An Exquisite Renaissance Devotional Needlework Panel. Dating from early 17th Century. Depicting The Coronation of The Virgin. The Virgin is being crowned by God the Father and Christ. The Holy Spirit is hovering between them. They float upon a cloud with Angels. The whole piece is worked entirely tiny tiny needlework stitches. The crown is jewelled with Garnets and Pearls. The embroidery l is mounted upon a wood panel decorated with carved silver painted lattice work. Within an early 18th century carved wood frame retaining original 18th century iron hanging loop. Behind 18th glass panel. Part of an side Alter Panel. European most likely Italian. This panel is approx Four Hundred Years old and for age and type. Is in good condition.
