We are happy to be able to offer for your consideration this lovely French crucifix on an ebonized wood plaque. Made in the late 1800s this type of crucifix was popular for private devotion. The body of Christ is made out of cast metal. It is attached to an ebonized wood plaque. It is from the Napoleon III era. It is in very good condition for its age. Certainly the body has oxidized a bit and there are a few worm holes in the wood. These can easily be filled or left as is for a more rustic look. From our home in the French Alps to yours. The entire dimension of this cross is 16 inches long by 9 1/2 inches wide the metal part of the crucifix is 10 inches long by 6 inches wide. A quick sidenote about our religious items.
