
This is an engraved religious sterling silver Swift & Fisher oil stock anointing ring. It’s engraved with the letters “OI” which stands for the Latin “Oleum Infirmorum” or “oil of the sick”. An olive oil would have been used to anoint the sick. Swift & Fisher were established around 1912 in Attleboro, MA. It weighs 26.1 grams and is about a size 11. The band width is about 3/16 inch, it is about 1 inch tall, and about 1 inch diameter. This is in excellent condition.
