This is a very large and beautiful Antique alter crucifix cross. It’s in great overall condition considering its age. I believe it should be from the mid late 1800s judging from how it is constructed and the general patina on it. It is quite light for its size, but it is made out of brass. I believe that the brass was either cast or hammered into its current shape. There is a light crack at the base of one of the feet and the cross sits a little bit crooked. Also the cross threads into the main body, and that is also a little bit loose. I have not messed with it too much, and I believe that it can be straightened out and mounted more solid, but I do not want to mess with it as it is quite a nice old Antique. I believe that it also had a cross mounted within the frame at one point, but it was probably removed due to import for export reasons or maybe for another reason.
