Made around late 16th or 17th century. It’s reversed version of Durer’s original engraving. From the Engraved Passion of 1508. Hows the betrayal of Christ by Judas (poiting him out to the Roman soldiers by kissing him). Christ is pictured with eyes closed, about to receive Judas’s kiss, with St Peter raising his sword to cut off Malchus’s ear. It’s most likely an illustration to some edition of Georg Scherer’s “Preces ac Meditationes” (Cologne: 1680). It’s not signed by the engraver but possibly engraved by. Willem De Haen or Monogrammist RDS whose wokrks were used to illustrate. Sheet size: 12 x 7,6 cm. Plate mark, printed area: 11.1 x 7.5 cm. Outer frame size: 16 x 12 cm.
