A beautiful and unique antique 19th century French Napoleon III period ebonized and carved architectural salvaged religious panel, having at its center the cross with the crown of thorns as well as two spears. This wonderful antique piece originally came from a Prie Dieu and is full of religious symbolism regarding the crucifixion of Christ. The cross is in the background but still central, the crown of thorns placed as if hanging on the cross and the pair of crossed spears, one depicted with the sponge that was offered to Jesus soaked in Vinegar, the other depicting the spear with which he was stabbed.
